Designed and manufactured by Heatrae Sadia, the Amptec electric flow boiler is perfect for small flats and apartments with limited space. The 6 kW output rating makes it suitable for around 4 radiators connected to a wet central heating system.
Why choose an electric boiler?
Gas and oil are the boilers of choice for homeowners but with the UK looking to a net-zero carbon future, we could soon see the end of using fossil fuels for home heating. When burning fossil fuels, such as gas and oil, greenhouse gases are emitted into the atmosphere which is a leading cause of climate change. To go on heating our homes in this way simply isn’t sustainable.
Electric heating is one of the possible alternatives as it has a number of benefits over gas and oil heating systems, including no emissions during operation and zero risk of a carbon monoxide leak into the home.
How efficient is the Heatrae Sadia Amptec?
Amptec electric boilers are highly efficient and boast an efficiency rating of 99.8%. Despite this, they only have an ErP D-rating for heat which is lower than the A rating given to gas and oil boilers which rarely have efficiencies of more than 93%.
This is because electricity generation is considered carbon intensive as it involves the burning of fossil fuels. So while using an electric boiler to heat your home won’t release carbon emissions, the generation process does. As the use of renewable energy sources (wind, solar and hydro) continues to increase, we could soon see electric boilers given higher ErP ratings.
Where can Amptec electric boilers be installed?
Amptec electric flow boilers are very compact, with dimensions of 1,050 x 90 x 90mm (HxWxD) so will take up very little space. Additionally, electric boilers don’t need a flue (which expels waste gases) so can be installed onto internal walls.
Heatra Sadia recommends installing the 6 kW model in loft conversions, extensions conservatories, flats, apartments and garages.
What are the key features of the Amptec electric flow?
Amptec electric flow boilers are compatible with wet central heating systems, including radiators and underfloor heating. These are long thin compact units with a footprint of 90mm square so don’t take up much space at all, are silent during operation, don’t have any moving parts and are very efficient.
The Amptec electric flow boiler range also includes output ratings of 4 kW, 9 kW, 11 kW and 12 kW, giving you plenty of options when it comes to finding a suitable system for your home.
How long is the warranty period?
Amptec electric flow boilers come with a 2 year parts and labour warranty as standard.
