The Heatrae Sadia Amptec electric flow boiler is the ideal heating system for small flats and apartments with limited space and a wet central heating system. The 4kW output rating makes it suitable for 2-3 radiators.
Why choose an electric boiler?
Electric boilers are unfamiliar to many homeowners but as the UK begins to turn its back on fossil fuels for home heating, they could soon become more common. When fossil fuels, such as gas and oil, are burnt greenhouse gases are emitted into the atmosphere - a leading cause of climate change. Continuing to heat our homes with these fossil fuels simply isn’t sustainable, supplies are expected to run out in the next 40 years.
Electric heating is one alternative as it offers a number of benefits over gas and oil, which includes no emissions during operation and zero risk of a carbon monoxide leak.
How efficient is the Heatrae Sadia Amptec?
Amptec electric boilers are incredibly efficient, boasting an efficiency rating of 99.8%. However, the ErP D-rating for heat is much lower than the A given to gas and oil boilers despite them rarely reaching efficiencies of more than 93%.
The reason for this is because electricity generation is currently considered carbon intensive as the vast majority involves the burning of fossil fuels. So while using an electric boiler to heat your home won’t be releasing carbon emissions, the generation process does. As the use of renewable sources (wind, solar and hydro) continues to grow, we could soon see the ErP rating given to electric boilers increase.
Where can Amptec electric boilers be installed?
Thanks to incredibly compact dimensions of 1,050 x 90 x 90mm (HxWxD) the Amptec will take up very little space, making it easier to decide where to have it installed. In addition, electric boilers have no need for a flue (which expels waste gases) so can be installed onto internal walls.
Heatra Sadia recommends installing the 4 kW model in loft conversions, extensions conservatories, flats, apartments and garages.
What are the key features of the Amptec electric flow?
Heatrae Sadia Amptec electric flow boilers are compatible with wet central heating systems, including conventional radiators and underfloor heating. These are long thin units with a footprint of 90mm square so won’t take up too much space, are silent during operation, have no moving parts to extend life expectancy and are incredibly efficient.
The Amptec electric flow boiler range also includes output ratings of 6 kW, 9 kW, 11 kW and 12 kW, giving you plenty of options when it comes to finding a suitable system for your home.
How long is the warranty period?
By having an Amptec electric flow boiler installed, you’ll be covered by a 2 year parts and labour warranty.
