Designed and manufactured by the Electric Heating Company, the SlimJim electric flow boiler 12 kW is a floor-standing unit that’s best suited to smaller homes and flats.
Why choose an electric boiler?
The burning of fossil fuels, such as natural gas and oil, to heat homes simply isn’t sustainable and increases the amount of carbon in the atmosphere - one of the major causes of climate change. Electricity is one of the possible alternatives as it offers a number of benefits, including: no carbon emissions, zero risk of a carbon monoxide leak, quick response to turning the central heating on, flexible installation, no need for a flue or condensate pipe and fewer moving parts which reduces the chance of a fault.
How efficient is a SlimJim Flow electric boiler?
A 100% efficiency rating makes this a highly efficient boiler, that could help to lower your energy bills as well as your carbon footprint. Despite such a high efficiency rating, electric boilers have a D-rating from ErP (whereas gas and oil have A-ratings with efficiencies of around 93%), which is as a result of electricity production as it’s considered carbon intensive as in most cases it involves the burning of fossil fuels.
Is a SlimJim Electric Flow boiler right for my home?
With an output rating of 12kW, this electric boiler is best suited to smaller homes with one bathroom and around 8 radiators.
Does the SlimJim range offer any alternative options?
The Electric Heating Company offer a number of outputs in this range, including: 4 kW, 10 kW and 14.4kW. The 4 kW is suitable for the smaller homes with 3-4 radiators, a 10 kW for 8 radiators and the 14.4kW is best for larger homes with 10 radiators
What are the key features of the SlimJim electric boiler range?
SlimJim Flow electric boilers have a number of features, that include almost silent operation, a compact minimalistic design, option of volt free or 230v control connections, 6-stage heating, easy fit connectors and sensors, inbuilt fault finding diagnostics, compatibility with S-plan configuration (can select heating or hot water only or both at the same time), a unique run dry water level sensor that protects the heat exchanger from running dry in the event of system water loss, a stainless steel heat exchanger that’s fully insulated to minimise energy heat loss, a boiler temperature range of between 30-80 degrees and a unique high current safety cut-out device to protect the boiler from overheating.
How long is the warranty period?
The standard warranty with SlimJim electric boilers is 2 years but this can be extended to 3 years, so you’ll be getting the peace of mind that you’re well covered by the Electric Heating Company long after the installation.
